Incidentally, at which end of the walk were the Tawnies - Brinscall or Abbey Village?
An evening walk through the reserve with the last hour of light to see what was moving, and it was a pleasure to hear so much birdsong.
5 longtail tits 2 pair bullfinch large numbers of Blue and Great tits, robins and blackbirds m & Fs 1 wren 1dunnock 5 song thrushes 30 jackdaws 2 Carrion Crows 3 Mallards 1m and 2 f 2 moorhens 1 pheasant (sat high in a tree) 2 maggies
on the return back to the car just as we approached the bridge, 2 Tawnies flew into a nearby tree and sat in excellent view of us, only several feet away
