RE: martin mere station footpath

Did notice a footpath signed, when i was there last month, but decided to walk down the road back to the station, as i had a train to catch.

Burscough Bridge the path starts at the back of the Manchester platform. Would have been a nice walk with out the buggie and the little fella!!!

Just a warning to all Mum's, Dad's and carers!

Just a word of warning if you are thinking of taking kids to Martin Mere by train - the walk from the station to the Mere on the new footpath is not suitable for under 5's or pushchairs/buggies.

I took my 2 1/2 year old {who today has walked the full length of PArkgate and all around Inner Marsh Farm Nature Reserve} found it difficult and asked to go in his buggy {which he never does} and it was a nightmare to push.

At one point I was carrying the rucksack, buggy and child across a field!!

So beware, sod the planet and drive!! ashamed.gifno.gifbiggrin.gif
