Chiffchaff calling at 7.30am this morning in Peter's Wood on Peterswood Close by M56 Junction 4.

2.15pm-2.45pm

Sparrowhawk chasing the Long-Tailed Tit flock around a tree.

Also Chaffinch was also a new addtion to the patch list (Don't see them very often round here!!!!)

Common Buzzard overhead M56 flying towards Northenden about 13:00

Much the same as yesterday, but a Grey Heron on the pond was a welcome patch tick.

A bit on the quiet side today as a lot of the birds appear to have moved on with the improving weather.

Apart from the usual stuff, only 2 Redwings were still around although a Song Thrush was a patch tick.

The Tit flock seems to have increased quite well, so worth checking on my next visits.

Quick walk round this afternoon brought a few additions to the new list.

1 Common Snipe (flew over)
Collared Dove
Greenfinch
Robin
Fieldfare
House Sparrow
Carrion Crow


1 Male Bullfinch still around and giving good views.

Witnessed a Magpie attacking a Blue Tit which just about managed to get away (desperate times!!)

Also a large roving Long-Tailed Tit flock is about and worth keeping an eye on. Only Blue, Great and Coal Tits mixed in today but you never know!!!

Quick walk with the dog to check out the Birch trees alongside the M56 near Greenwood Road.

Blue Tit
Great Tit
Long-Tailed Tit
Coal Tit
Bullfinch (in with the Goldfinches)
Goldfinch
Redwing
Mistle Thrush
Blackbird
Dunnock
Wren
Black Headed Gull
Jay
Magpie
Woodpigeon
