Yes, there seems to have been a big influx today. My first in this area was the 29th but the weather was foul and it didn't stay around. I didn't see any more until the 4th.
Party of 14 Jay flew south east over bridgewater road at c.7.30 this morning all seemed to have come from trees around the houses just north of the road and were quickly gaining height, possibly a regular roost?
At 12 noon today heard what i thought sounded like a curlew flying overhead, the bird was flying in a north east direction and i only got a quick glimpse by the time i had located it. on reflection it was to dark for curlew and my thoughts turned to may be a bird from the diver family. it was flying in the direction of blackleach cp.
Green Woodpecker seems to be settling in for the Summer around Leyland Farm in New Manchester. Also this PM, L Whitethroat North side of Turncroft farm. Follow footpath North to second bridge over stream.
