up date for ashton moss these are my sightings so far 29/03/2009 nigel charlesworth and phil logan mockeridge pool area magpie, mute swan (2),mallard (6) moorhen, coot, canada goose (2) black headed gull, lapwing (6), feral pigeon, skylark on the lane kestrel, blackbird, bullfinch, longtailed tit, reed bunting, carrion crow, wood pigeon,grey heron mockeridge nusery end mistle thrush, wren, greenfinch, dunnock,collard dove, stock dove, on golf couse (up the divide path) linnet, and jackdaw.

local patch list stands @ 33 species with only two outings and still the summer stuff to come could be in for some great outings

I am going to be watching the area deffinitely every Sunday but also through week as and when. the feeding stations are near the motorway viewed from the corner to the farm nothing special seed on ground next to willow tree blue based feeder in left hand side of bush another orange one on the fence and seed on post down the lane to the farm is a small hawthorn bush I put fat balls in the bush. just to let you know I saw juvinile kittewake on pond at approx 9.20 this morning and have sent details via email to Ian
Welcome to the forum. There was already an Ashton Moss thread with 15 posts on it. It might be helpful if you could add your sightings to that thread. Unfortunately, it currently resides on page 4 as there haven't been any posts for two weeks. Most of my posts on that thread relate to the same location. Might see you around some time.
just last sunday myself and mate phil logan have statred watching the area from the two garden centres upto the motorway and along the new golf course up to the farm we have selected three areas to use as feeding stations and are listing it as our local patch will up date with sightings
