For those who don't know it, this is an excellent area of rough grassland, scrubland with marshes and pools. One side borders on the PPG factory and another side onto Bickershaw Lane. Grid ref: SD627025, access from the end of Belmont Ave.
Today there in rain: 4 Grasshopper Warblers reeling, 4 Sedge Warblers, 5 Whitethroats, Reed Warblers in the PPG grounds - and a guy surveying for the BTO professionally...who said he'd had Lesser Whitethroat, in an area where I usually get them.
