Around Eskdale this weekend

13 Buzzards including 7 riding the thermals at the same time
1 distant Hen Harrier
2 Kestrels
6 Wheatears
1 Dipper
2 Grey wagtails
18 Pied wagtails
20+ Skylarks
Willow warblers were everywhere

The dawn chorus started at 3.20am this morning and was superb.

Long weekend walking around the South lakes area turned up,

16 Buzzards over the weekend including one which had the lightest colouring I have ever seen up near Wasdale head.
1 Peregrine hunting over Birker fell.
1 Cormorant fishing in Wast water, largest lake in England and only one bird hmm.gif

All found in the Eskdale valley
3 Dippers
5 Grey wagtails
12 Pied wagtails
2 Stonechat
1 GS Woodpecker
6 Skylarks
1 Kestrel

Also 1 Weasel seen.

Plenty of Rapters at Wasdale and along the Eskdale valley this weekend.
12 Buzzards
2 Hen harriers
3 Peregrines
1 Merlin
2 Sparrowhawks
2 Kestrels
Also seen were,
4 Dippers
6 Grey wagtails
2 Ravens
4 Goldcrests
11 Wheatears
The dawn chorus this morning was the best I`ve ever heard smile.gif.
