Timed Tetrad Visit - we are all doing Atlas work for the national atlas (winter and summer) and Greater Manchester Breeding Atlas - breeding work starts tomorrow! Have a look at the Bird Surveys page on this website.
A tetrad is a 2km x 2km square.

On one of my TTVs. Looking forward to Grasshopper Warbler there. It was decommissioned about 1980 I think.

It's between Golborne Rd and Ashton Heath. You can get to it either by the old access road off Golborne Rd, or from the bottom of Heath Road (on your left just before it turns to a gravel track), from the path at the bottom of Lincoln Drive, or from a path off Edge Green Lane (i think thats what it's called). It's very overgrown these days, but it used to be a sewage works. Theres the remains of a few concrete tracks and a settling tank of some sort, which is now a smelly little fishing pond.
