Wednesday 14/9/16 7pm Cavendish Mill/canal kestrel dropped a very lucky bird after scaring a grey heron into flight, nearly causing a mid air collision along with a carrion crow and black headed gulls. Very comical!
On Friday 29th Oct, 3.30pm sparrowhawk & carrion crow had a clash above my garden, crow did a somersault sqwarking loudly not expecting the sparrowhawk to retaliate
Seen sparrowhawk fly over my house twice in past two days. Noticed starlings gathering in flocks. Will have to see if they start swarming over Denton Golf Course in the evenings- if anyone notices this please let me know the time. Cheers

'But its black and a bird' was the reply from my 4 year old reason that one. heard greenfinch again this morning on school grounds but hiding in trees
After a slow start yesterday my little garden got very busy today, all in my willow tree- 11.00am 2 mistle thrushes 2 male blackbirds (plus female later) 10 starlings 1 robin (not ate by sparrowhawk) 1 dunnock 1 wren 2 blue tits 6 house sparrows
19/12/09, 12.30pm wren in ASDA carpark, right in front of where I was parked with everyone rushing past 21st Dec 09, 10.45-12.15 Went for walk by canal around Portland Basin/River Tame, Ashton u Lyne Not much about, very cold, lots of snow on ground, canal frozen 2 canada geese 5 mallards 8 long tailed tits 2 blue tits 4 great tits, 8 blackbirds, 2 magpies, 4 woodpigeon 2 dunnocks 3 robins plus c80 pink footed geese on way home
14/12/09, 09.15 Grey wagtail on Hamilton St- not seen here before, usually over on canal or Tame river. Also saw 3 carrion crow, 2 collared doves, 30+ starlings, 10+ house sparrows, 4 blackbirds, 1 magpie

Ironically, I had a sparrowhawk eating a bird in my garden on Wed (2/12). Really amazing ! The only problem is I haven't seen my robin since Not sure how many birds I'll get in my garden now!! Rae

Today, 3/8/09 7-9pm 50+ canada geese flying up very noisily 8+ long tails, 5 blue tits 2 swifts 1 robin
Just got keys to school allotment up at Guide Bridge (Audenshaw borders) & been promising site already for birds: Sat 1/8/09 afternoon sparrowhawk, twice- flew over with a rat or something robin, greenfinch, longtails, bluetits, blackbird, house sparrow, swallows, carrion crow, swifts, & 5 frogs!

Near park Mistle thrush on nest, partner chasing off kestrel Nest in great place to watch but impossible to get to especially for cats the thrushes call regularly to our garden too, especially when it's cold
Back again- blew up car & then laptop! Anyway, had good morning walking from St Peter's school to Oxford Park 9.10-9.30am
