Unfortunately haven't seen or heard any further sign of the Tree Pipit since 2/5 - it was singing pretty much all the time on this date so I'm afraid it looks like it may have just been a migrant. Shame because the habitat here looked pretty suitable. If anyone wants to check the area out it was at Benny Hill Plantation at approx SD951147 ( yes that is it's real name!)
1st well done on taking the lead in the tournament obviously you like the trophy and want it to stay on your shelf, Well we are only a tad bit behind you so dont rest up!
2nd this weekend was very busy out in the field, and some may have missed the new water pipit article and the Gull bonanza excellent pieces.
I would like to see water pipit in the Gm boundaries so look forward to catching up with one.

Due to a situation beyond my control, the presentation of the trophy will have to be delayed for a while, but I now have the first Greater Manchester Birder of the year trophy to present to Mr Mckerchar as soon as i can, hopefully photos of the presentation will be available afterwards.
In the rush of excitment for the new years day list, it appears we have forgotten about last years GM bird tournament, and the hard work put into the field by Ian
The First winner of the GM 200 trophy for birder of the year.
That will be presented to him shortly. well done that man
