It now lies in the hands of the observer and the county rarities committee, although the observer feels certain it was an Arctic Skua.

Pager services report an ARCTIC SKUA (or "possibly LONG-TAILED SKUA") over Harwood, heading towards Tottington, Bolton @ 10.00
