There have probably been at least two birds here for most of the latter part of last week but sightlines haven't been good enough to be sure

16.45 today at least 2 birds on one of the large soil heaps in the cordoned-off area at Dean Lane, near the Carpet World roost. This is the site of an old flat-roofed L'Oreal building (now demolished for new housing) over which I'm seen birds displaying in several past Springs. It will be interesting to see if sightings on the grass patch opposite are down this Summer, in the same way that sightings at Morrisons in Failsworth stopped when the old mill was converted to a much lower building.hmm.gif

Also 35 birds high s.e over Hollinwood 16.55

50+ Lapwing on the house roofs opposite Central Tyres, Bolton. Also a flock of 44 Golden Plover on same roofs. Both flocks were very moblie and only landed for a few seconds.

The 'Peep Peep' of a reversing delivery lorry sent the Goldies into a frenzy!smile.gif and set them of in another couple of laps of the housing estate before landing again.
