Ian and I have been on site today to meet the Site Manager of the new gravel extraction work that has just started.They have promised to put in a pathway for birders to use when all the access work and necessary construction work has been completed,but until then they have asked us to let everybody know that there is strictly NO access to the Peat Pools.We hope everybody adheres to this as we hope to forge a good relationship with the company which will be of great benifit to all birders in the long term,and mean eventually there will be better access and viewing points.It is now impossible to view the Pools without trepassing as they can no longer be seen from the track as earth banks have been put up which prevent viewing.
