A bit of Excitement this morning at Elton,  a strange calling high up wader flew over without stopping NE.  luckily I managed a few shots of it, I thought the length of the bill was the key ID,   last record at Elton apparently 1991. A lovely Juvenile Spotted Redshank.

Lots of Mediterranean Gulls today around Elton.  flying in fields near Pumphouse. One of them had a Silver Ring but I could not get to read it, it would of been interesting to know where it was ringed.

In addition to the usual suspects this morning there were a good number of swifts above the fields between the main reservoir and Withins. A couple of oystercatchers. On my return to the car park there was a Willow Tit on the feeders.

Also today

1 Oystercatcher at Withins, an 'interesting' Blackbird with particularly pale wing panels from several angles and an usual alarm call but no white gorget, 2 sub-adult Grey Herons and a pair of Teal on the pool in the highland cattle field and a Song Thrush doing its' own 'checklist of Elton birds' song with Pheasant, Curlew, Oystercatcher, Black-headed Gull and even the Reed Warbler singing from high up in willows opposite included.
Missed a Common Whitethroat at Benny's, but like the tram home I missed at Victoria I'm sure another will be along soon biggrin
