The trick with the Excel recording sheet is to send it at whatever interval suits you, but Save As and give it a title (eg A. Bloggs Jan-Mar 2007) That way you will retain the blank form for use again. You then send me the A Bloggs file as an attachment over the internet. judith@gmbirds.freeserve.co.uk I will then store it in a file I will create under your name. Or you can send it in one big file at the end of the year. It's entirely up to you. It's helpful, if you create any new sites not in the Sites list (tabs at the bottom of the Excel sheet) if you can paste them in red or another colour. I can then add them to the database beforehand, so that the uploading doesn't go haywire! Contact me direct if you have any queries.

Yes thank you, I have them all. However, of the 20k+ sightings on Birdtrack, a lot are not really suitable for incorporation into the database as they are people's garden bird sightings of very common species. (eg 1 Bluetit, 1 Robin etc) Many also had no quantity attached to them. So at present there are about 5k waiting to be uploaded to the database.

I submit all my sightings on BTO. Do you get all these passed onto you automatically? I did tick the box that asked if i agreed to this, but was wondering if you did get everything or not.
On the excel county recoring sheet do you use the same sheet for the whole year? and also at the end of the year when it is finished do you send it to you by post ? thanks
